Ms.
Bachmann, exceptional goldsmith, who has professionally worked with
Tiffany & Co. as well other major fine jewelry designers, is now
producing her own line of jewelry. With
a fine arts degree in sculpture, her work evokes the influences of
Brancusi and Noguchi with the playfulness of Eva Hesse. Exciting
combinations of materials such as clear acrylic lined with precious
metal leaf, sterling silver, 18 karat gold, exotic woods
and corian define the collection
which is made entirely in New York. Ms.
Bachmann expresses, "My work is highly sculptural in its
three-dimensionality and gesture. I
like my pieces to exist as objet d' art even when not being worn.
I love the combination of traditional gold leaf technique with a
form sculpted in clear, pure, modern acrylic. The effect is very luminous
and elegant." In
fact, the light quality reflecting off her pieces is magnificent and is
further enhanced with the body's movement.
