"I like to take serious things lightly, and light things seriously."

I am inspired by the fabrics and patterns surrounding me. Whether drawing my designs from fashions seen on television, in advertisements or throughout clothing stores, I create my furniture by playing with texture, shape and color. Using traditional joinery to construct my work, I finish the surfaces with unconventional ("almost irreverent,") techniques. I experiments with anything that leaves a mark — painting, burning, dying, scraping, denting — until I'm satisfied with the finished result.
