"THE ECLECTIC ELECTRIC": September 5 - October 4, 2003
This critically-acclaimed series simultaneously marks its return to our exhibition schedule, and its debut here in Chicago. This is an invitational exhibition, featuring works in all media, with the common requirements of function (implicit or implied) and the use of electricity (Household current or battery-powered acceptable). While one might rightly expect a variety of lamps and clocks, there are always a few surprises in store!

"VESSELS, BOXES, and BASKETS": October 10 - November 4, 2003.
One of our signature exhibitions returns with an added twist: an exhibition within an exhibition. VBB will, as usual, feature works in all media which fit the definition of a Box, a Vessel, or a Basket… by selected artists nationwide. This year, however, in coordination with the Chicago Cultural Center's mounting of "The Artful Teapot", VBB will incorporate a special grouping of teapots, "2 a Tea", which will remain on exhibition through the end of the year. Functional, sculptural, and conceptual artwork in all media meeting the description of a vessel, box or basket. This is intended to be a whole-gallery exhibition and will comprise up to 45 such artworks. Edition / series work is acceptable, provided the edition or series is limited to 10 or fewer. "A GLASS ACT '04" - [PRISM Contemporary Glass]: March/April 2004 (tentative). Functional, sculptural and conceptual artworks with glass as the primary media. All US resident artists are eligible. Works must be less than two years old. Return Shipping guaranteed. Show expected to open early March, and run through end of April. Works to arrive last week of February.
